Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
- The candidate must be a Citizen of India and a Permanent Resident of Assam.
- Proof of residence must be submitted after the publication of the final selection list.
- SC/ST/OBC/MOBC candidates are exempted from submitting PRC.
Language Proficiency
- Candidates must be able to speak Assamese or any other state language fluently.
Employment Exchange Registration
- Registration with a local Employment Exchange of Assam is mandatory.
Age Limit (As on 1 January 2026)
Post-wise age limits are as follows:
- Constable (AB & UB): 18–25 years
- Driver Constable / Driver / Driver Operator: 18–25 years
- Driver (Forest Department): 18–40 years
- Sub Inspector (UB/Communication): 20–26 years
- Station Officer / Squad Commander: 20–24 years
- Assistant Jailor: 21–40 years
- Sub Inspector (AB – Commando): 20–24 years
- Constable (AB – Commando): 18–21 years
- Safai Karmachari: 18–40 years

Educational Qualification
- Constable (UB): HSSLC / Class XII passed
- Constable (AB): HSLC / Class X passed
- Sub Inspector (UB/AB), Assistant Jailor: Graduate in any discipline
- Station Officer / Squad Commander: B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
- SI (Communication): B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech/MCA/Diploma in Electronics/IT/Computer with required experience
- Driver Posts: HSLC passed + valid driving licence (LMV/MMV/HMV as applicable)
- Safai Karmachari: Minimum Class VI passed; maximum HSSLC
